Mike is a graduate of Potomac State College and the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Real Estate major. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, and upon discharge joined the family Real Estate & Insurance business in Allegany County. He developed properties in La Vale, Bedford, & Fulton counties, Pa. He continues to develop in Deep Creek Lake. His focus is Commercial Appraisals, and he is currently working with the Maryland State Highway Administration on the Oakland bypass project. Mike has been in new-construction home building at Deep Creek Lake since 1989, offering innovative floor plans that range from custom log homes to traditional year-round styles, from contemporary to rustic, incorporating the client's needs and lifestyle. He has built from waterfront, to lake access, and at the ski communities of the Wisp Resort. He works closely with his construction office administrator, Trudy Savage, who joined the company in 1996. The Goodfellow Agency was founded in 1937 by Mike Goodfellow's father, D.C. Goodfellow, who purchased the business from Mike's grandfather, D.P. Miller. The agency has offices in Grantsville and Frostburg, is a Full-Service Real Estate Brokerage that also offers Residential and Commercial Appraisals. Goodfellow served as a Commissioner for the Maryland Real Estate Commission in Baltimore, MD. for 12 years, including two (2) terms as Chairman. In 2005 he was awarded the Realtor Emeritus designation by the National Association of Realtors at its mid-year meeting in Washington.
